My Joy Today! And, Yours!

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, I’m sure you’ve seen my posts about "My Joy Today."  And, you may have wondered where my Joy posts came from!

The beauty of New Mexico brought me joy!

During Covid restrictions, my friends and I, like most other people, missed the connection and fun times we usually had together. So, we started texting each other to stay in touch.

Stitched resist for Shibori.

One day, one of my friends said, "I am not unhappy but I don’t have any joy.” After thinking about that I decided that we needed to look for at least one small joy each day. I started posting "My Joy Today" on my Facebook page and my Instagram and it became very popular. I don’t think my friend was the only one who needed joy and it helped us all get through a tough time!

A gorgeous Fall rose.

But, as the pandemic lessened and life opened up, my daily joys continued! So, every day, I post about a small joy that I’ve experienced. It might be a beautiful rose I saw.

Made by Rose, a student from WA, from the selvages I gave her.

Or a gift sent to me by a former student.

Quilts at Primitive Gatherings where I taught Shibori Indigo Dyeing.
Beautiful quilts I saw in a shop.

Posted in March about my now available Kawa collection for Moda Fabrics.
The introduction of my next line of fabric.

The amazed and delighted look on the face of a student with her first Shibori.

And, of course, unwrapping my own Shibori Indigo Dyeing to see what magic has occurred!

What is your joy today? It can be anything. Something small, something big, something that only means joy to you personally. Look for it! Record your joys and let it remind you of the wonders there are in life. Some days we have to look hard, but they're always there.

I'd love to hear about your joys and tell you about mine. Follow me on Facebook and Instagram and let's share our joys together! #find joy #findjoyeveryday #findjoyinthelittlethings #findjoyintheordinary #findjoyinyourjourney
