I just received my January/February issue of McCall’s Quilting Magazine.

It is their 100th issue and on page 24 you will find my

Winter Dinner silk table runner project.

We do have the kits on the Calico Carriage website now.

It is a fun project and a great one to start working with silk.

Be sure to read the hints in the magazine and on my website for working with silk.

Click on the hints and tips in the upper right section of the Calico Carriage home page.

Thank you for reading this. It is always exciting to see your babies in print!

Also, check out my workshops.

I love to travel and teach people to work with silk.

My November 9 post was about teaching in Oklahoma.

I am working on a magazine project and want to show you the beautiful silk fabrics.

quilts more #1

The fabrics are so scrumptious I think they look like something good to eat.

This post is short today because I have lots to do.

Hope you have a good day.

On Saturday I taught my Road to Success with Silk class in Oklahoma City

at Oklahoma Quiltworks Quilt Shop.

We had a great time with 17 wonderful ladies.

My host for the trip was a Quiltworks employee Charlcie.

She and fellow worker Verlinda treated me like a queen.

This is Charlcie in their fabulous classroom. charlcie in classroomIf you have not visited Oklahoma Quiltworks you do not know what you are missing.

The shop is bright and colorful with very friendly and helpful employees.

Some have been there so long they are surely family by now.

It says a lot for a shop with employees who have been there almost if not over 20 years.

There are bolts & bolts of fabulous fabrics.

I had a wonderful class full of students anxious to learn and ready to sew!

The morning was spent learning about silk and how wonderful it is to work with once you know the secrets of how to tame it.

We went to lunch and look what was outside the shop.

Doesn’t that look like a fun way to get to quilt class?

Not too long after lunch we had ladies with finished tops.

These were the two first to finish. Aren’t they gorgeous?

and another

4th finished

and another  5th finishedand another  6th finishedBy the end of the day almost everyone had a finished top.

It was so encouraging to see so many ladies ready to go home and tackle another silk project.

Some bought my new pattern Fine Dining  to make next.

I had a safe trip home that went by fast because I was listening to a great book on tape called

The Copper Bracelet. It is a sequel to The Chopin Manuscript

Both books are unique in that each chapter of the mystery is written by a different author.

Check out the itinerary on my website www.calicocarriage.com to see where I will be next.

I would love to come to your guild or local quilt shop to teach.

We had so much fun at the      Nosegay class in Fairfield, Texas yesterday.

They were a great group of ladies and let me tell you they can cook.

We had a wonderful potluck lunch.

They had fabulous fabrics and the blocks were as varied as a quilt shop.

I think I may be back in the groove and will be blogging more often. I am also now on Face book.

I am still trying to learn all the ins and outs of posting there.
